About us

Advocate Software Pty Ltd is an independent software company in Brisbane, Australia. We make practice management software for Australian law firms, and we started the company on the back of a simple realisation: the systems firms run on today are inflexible. The software was never built for the way each firm practises, let alone for what firms want from AI now.

Our founder

Max Crofts started freelancing while he was still in high school, building and administering websites for small businesses. His first law firm client signed on in 2014 and never left. He's spent the dozen years since helping Brisbane firms with their technology: building their websites, managing their devices, provisioning their software, and writing bespoke software for the jobs nothing off the shelf covered. That work has included intake systems that have handled thousands of clients, correspondence at scale, and integrations with payment facilitators. Advocat.ing is the product of watching what firms actually do with their systems, and what their systems will not let them do.
